Galina was born in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan and moved with her family to Kiev, the capital city of Ukrain. She studied design at the Art and Design school from 1980 to 1983 and graduated with honours. She continued her art studies at the Art Academy in L'vov, West Ukrain from 1985 to 1990. Galina immigrated to New Zealand in 1996. Galina has exhibited in Ukrain, Russia, Polland, Canada, Germany and the Czech Republic, and exhibited throughout New Zealand. Her diversity is demonstrated through becoming the finalist in the Telecom Art Awards, illustrating Brian Prestley's new book and undertaking commissions of architectural decorative art. Galina creates unique acrylic and textured mixed media work with much mood and expression. She enjoys exploring and combining different materials and subjects including architectural features, historical images, romantic and contemporary impressions.
