Leone is a self taught artist who decided to set aside a successful 16 year career in hairdressing to focus on being a full time artist. Leone's interest in art started from an early age, with her being an avid artist during her childhood. Taking the next step in pursuing a childhood dream of being a full time artist started with attending leisure art classes to develop her talent, with this culminating in her now spending considerable time tutoring and sharing her experience with others. Leone works in both oil and acrylic mediums, producing both traditional and modern landscape paintings inspired by the stunning southern landscapes of Fiordland and New Zealand's southern region. Leone enjoys the use of colour, with her modern paintings providing the opportunity to blend rich colours with the intrigue of a more muted misty riverbed, so typical of Fiordland. Commissions can be arranged through the Queenstown Gallery of Fine Art.
