Born in Invercargill and now living in North Canterbury, Lindsay is a largely self taught artist who has been painting since 1983. As a youth Lindsay spent a lot of time hunting and fishing in Fiordland and the Southern Lakes district and his love of painting these areas has grown from this. To further his art Lindsay has attended painting workshops with some of New Zealand's leading landscape artists, and he attributes his mastery of the paintbrush to this along, with years of practice. Over the last few years Lindsay has hired helicopters and chartered boats to access some of the more remote parts of this beautiful region of New Zealand. Lindsay is also a Charter Member of Pastel Artists of New Zealand and in 2004 won first place in the Seascape section of their national exhibition.
