Patricia bases herself in both Southland and Central Otago, dividing her time between the two areas giving her a wide variety of terrain to paint from. Largely self taught, Patricia has been painting for 25 years, specialising in oils although her range of media includes watercolour and acrylic. Inspiration for the high country paintings originated around the Glanaray Station area of the Waikaia district, where she grew up on a nearby farm, although now many of her paintings also depict high country sheep and cattle musters from settings found in the magnificent rugged landscapes of Central Otago and the open plains of the McKenzie Country with it's beautiful mountain backdrops. Other subjects she has a passion for are painting impressions of people in settings such as cafes, streets and beaches. Painting and sketching have always played an important role in her life and early in her career she worked as a Graphic Artist and Art Teacher and is now working full time as a landscape artist. In 2003 one of Patricia's paintings featured on the cover of the "Australian Artist" magazine after winning first prize in one of their competitions. In 2004 she had an 8 page article published in this same magazine.
