Lance O'Gorman has been painting since the late 1950's and has earned the reputation of being New Zealand's best known and popular 'Neo impressionistic' artist specialising mainly in landscapes and seascapes. After an Auckland Grammar education he attended the NZ School of Pharmacy and then continued his Art career by training at the Auckland Institute of Technology specialising in Fine and Graphic art. Lance is a member of numerous Art Societies in NZ and a member of NZ Fellowship of Artists and Academy of Fine Arts. He is also a member of the Australian and British Fellowship of Artists. Lance holds numerous art awards, including: BNZ Art Award; Waikato Breweries Art Award (1975 and 1976); 1978 Kellher Art Award (merit) and the Auckland Art Festival Award. Lance's work is held in numerous public, private and corporate art collections in both New Zealand and throughout the world.
