Capturing on canvas the uniquely clear light that New Zealand enjoys is a major challenge for any artist, but one that Geoffrey Shaw has most assuredly mastered. Geoffrey was born in Hastings in 1967. The years that followed saw many trips around the South Island. The images and colours of the landscape that he experienced laid the foundations for the paintings he now creates. After graduating with a diploma in Visual Communication, he worked in advertising and freelance design before becoming a full time artist many years ago. Geoffrey has a love of the landscape which tells it own story though its colour, form and texture and it is these stories that he brings to life with a beautifully executed style of interfractive realism. Currently represented by New Zealand’s leading art galleries in Queenstown and Christchurch, his paintings are sought after by discerning buyers and hang in private collections world-wide.
